The expectations surrounding the movie ‘3’ starring Dhanush and Shruti Hassan have been high ever since its song ‘Kolaveri Di’ went on to become a worldwide phenomenon. The movie released recently to very huge expectations.

But recently there have been reports that the movie had tanked in Telugu and Tamil and Superstar Rajinikanth, who is father of director Aishwarya Rajinikanth and father-in-law of actor Dhanush, would be paying the compensation to the distributors.

But actor Dhanush rubbished these rumors.

“How I love the stories that are created just because I am married to a particular person's daughter,” he said.

“‘3’ has suffered no losses. And even if there are losses to be compensated for, God has been kind to me. I can take care of my own financial liabilities, thank you very much,” he added.

Kamal Hassan, who is very protective of his daughter Shruti Hassan, felt that movie could work in Hindi if the movie was edited especially in the second half.

The director of the movie Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush have taken Kamal Hassan’s suggestion seriously and have decided to edit the movie for its Hindi version.

“The film has gone into serious re-editing. Most experts feel 3 didn't work to its optimum level at the Tamil and Telugu box office because of its inordinate length,” said a source to daily.

“Kamal Ji saw the film and made suggestions as to how and where to prune down the length, specially in the second half,” the source added.

Dhanush confirmed that the movie was undergoing major editing for its Hindi release.

“Yes I am editing the film down further. Kamal sir did see the film and was kind enough to make suggestions,” he said.

The movie ‘3’ will release in Hindi next month.
