After signing Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, actress Madhuri Dixit has signed yet another movie. The actress has will now be seen in Anubhav Sinha's ‘Gulab Gang’.

“Just signed a second film called 'Gulab Gang'! Go girl power! It is to be produced by Anubhav Sinha, and directed by Soumik Sen,” wrote Madhuri Dixit on her Facebook page.

The producer of the movie Anubhav Singh confirmed the news and said that Madhuri Dixit will play the female lead in the movie and will lead a gang of women.

“We have signed Madhuri for 'Gulab Gang'. She would be playing the lead role of Gulab. She heads the gang of women,” said Anubhav Singh to PTI.

“It was director Soumik Sen who narrated me the story and I really liked it. It was his idea of having Madhuri in the film. He met her and she was also extremely excited about it,” he added.

The movie ‘Gulab Gang’ is a story about a gang of women, lead by Madhuri Dixit, fighting against social injustice.

“It is not a biopic. It is not based on anyone. It is in a way inspired by something that happened in UP. It is a fiction,” said Anubhav Singh.

Other than Madhuri Dixit there will be 5 more powerful characters.

“We have just finalized Madhuri. Soumik had mentioned that he wants to cast Mahie Gill, Shilpa Shukla for other roles. But I don't know if he has met them and things have been finalized or not. Also, we are looking for a female antagonist,” said the producer.

The movie ‘Gulab Gang’ will go on floors later this year and will release next year Women’s Day, March 8.
