Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding is one of the most covered news by the media. For years now rumors of their wedding have been going on. But ever time a date was rumored to have been set by the couple, the couple went ahead and denied only to state that ‘marriage will happen but not any time soon’.

But for once the media seems to have got their information right as the couple will be tying knot this year on October 16th and this has been confirmed by Saif Ali Khan’s mother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore.

“Yes, that's the date. Then a reception, though not a very big one,” Sharmila Tagore said.

As Saif Ali Khan’s father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away recently, the wedding will be a low key affair with just family and close friends.

“Since it's still so soon after the family patriarch Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away the entire family agreed to a low-key wedding. Kareena and her folks readily agreed to a closed family-only wedding. However a large reception after the wedding was seen to be imperative, considering both Saif and Kareena have such a vast network of friends in the film industry,” said a source to a daily.

The venue for the reception remains undecided but most likely it will happen in Mumbai.

The couple isn’t planning on going to honeymoon as of yet due to their prior movie commitments.

“The details are now being worked out. But the honeymoon won't occur immediately. She has no intentions of letting her career slacken after marriage,” the source said.

Kareena Kapoor has infact assured the director Madhur Bhandarkar that she won’t be taking any breaks the shooting of the movie will go as planned.

“Sharmilaji's best innings as an actress started after marriage. In fact Saif was a baby on the sets when Sharmilaji was doing one of her most celebrated film ‘Aradhana’. Kareena intends to follow her mom-in-law's career model. She will do two films a year after marriage. After she completes Madhur Bhandarkar'sHeroine’ she goes straight into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Ram Leela’,” the source concluded.
