Kareena Kapoor’s loss is Deepika Padukone’s gain. The actress has replaced Kareena Kapoor in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor’s next joint production venture.

Previously, the filmmakers were keen on roping in either Kareena Kapoor or Katrina Kaif for the movie. But eventually Kareena Kapoor won and the producers decided to approach her.

But the actress turned down the offer stating that her wedding would happen the same time that the movie’s shooting was to start.

But according to the sources, the reason Kareena opted out of the movie is because she wasn’t comfortable sharing screen space with Emraan Hashmi.

“It is strange Kareena was not happy with her role. She also told Ekta and Karan that her wedding would be around the same time they wanted to start shooting for the film. It's a heroine-oriented film and Emraan is not the mainstay of the project. Deepika was so excited about her role that she agreed to it a couple of days before boarding the flight to Turkey, where she is currently shooting for ‘Race 2’,” said the source.

Apparently Deepika Padukone dint take long to say yes to the movie as the movie is woman centric and is an urban take on love and is quirky, edgy and dramatic.

Later Kareena Kapoor changed her mind and said yes to the movie but Deepika Padukone had been finalized by then and makers were sure that Deepika would do a great job and will do better justice to the role than Kareena Kapoor.

The movie is directed by debutant director Akshay Roy, who has already begun working on the film.
