The sequel to 2010 critical and commercial hit movie ‘Ishqiya’ ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ is all set to go on floors soon.

While the male actors Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi will reprise their roles as Khalujan/Khalu/Iftikhar and Razzak Hussain aka Babban respectively but lead actress Vidya Balan, who received high praises for her performance in the movie, will be missing from the sequel. She has been replaced by none other than Madhuri Dixit, who is making a comeback on bigscreen after her 2007 movie ‘Aaja Nachle’.

Arshad Warsi, who developed a good relationship with Vidya Balan during the shooting of ‘Ishqiya’, said that he would miss not having Vidya around during the shooting of the sequel.

“I absolutely enjoyed working with Vidya (Balan) in ‘Ishqiya’. She is a dear friend and I will miss her while shooting the sequel,” said Arshad Warsi to a daily.

At the same time the actor is very much looking forward to work with Madhuri Dixit in ‘Dedh Ishqiya’.

“But I can't wait to start shooting with Madhuri Dixit. I mean, no one can beat her right?” he said.

Along with Madhuri Dixit the movie will also star actress Kangna Ranaut.

The movie will see Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah move from Gorakhpur (where ‘Ishqiya’ was set) to Lucknow and meet a highly cultured Muslim family that includes Madhuri Dixit and Kangna Ranaut. While Naseeruddin Shah will romance Madhuri, Arshad Warsi will romance Kangna.

Director Abhishek Choubey, who directed ‘Ishqiya’, is all set to direct the sequel. Vishal Bhardwaj will return as a producer in the sequel.
