Filmmaker Karan Johar has denied the recent reports that he has signed actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone to play the lead in his upcoming home production ‘Shuddhi’.

Earlier the movie was to star Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. But later Hrithik Roshan walked out of the movie due to health and date issues and Kareena Kapoor followed the suit.

Since then media has been buzzing with reports that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been approached for the movie.

When asked if Ranveer and Deepika would be doing Shuddhi, Karan said, "No they are not finalized."

He refused to divulge any further details.

The movie to be directed by ‘Agneepath’ fame director Karan Malhotra was set to go on floors last year itself. But the movie’s shooting got postponed multiple times due to Hrithik Roshan’s health issues.

Later Hrithik Roshan shocked everyone by saying that he was bowing out of the movie and wished Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra good luck for the movie. Kareena Kapoor soon released a statement saying that she too was walking out of the movie due to its continuous postponement.

Recently Karan Johar had announced that Shuddhi will release in 2015 and the star cast will be finalized soon.
