'Satyamev Jayate' has had an impact on people: Imran Khan

Aamir Khan’s debut TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ that ran for just 13 episodes has left people wanting more.

The show that showcased social issues of our society has had a great impact on people and many have applauded Aamir Khan for bringing forth the topics that many generally shy away from discussing.

In his show Aamir Khan spoke about heart touching issues like female infanticide, dowry system in India, medical malpractices, sexual abuse, education and corruption. The heart felt interviews by people on his show have managed to create quite an impact in the audience, who have begun to raise their voice against these issues.

Aamir Khan’s nephew and actor Imran Khan also feels the same.

“It has had an impact... Some people, of course don't agree with what he is saying or doing. But they are talking about it,” said Imran Khan to a daily.

I had a great time working with Salman: Kabir Khan

Director Kabir Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has released to a tremendous response by the audience and mixed to positive reviews from the critics.

The director, who has earlier directed movies like ‘Kabul Express’ and ‘New York’, denied that to direct a movie as enormous as ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ that stars Superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif he had to move out of his comfort zone.

“ETT is completely in my comfort zone. There is nothing in the film that I haven't done before. It is just that it is a bigger and a larger film. Every script and story demands its own treatment and my film had to be on a big scale. We have travelled across five countries and nine cities because the film unfolds in a certain manner that required travel to so many destinations,” said Kabir Khan in an interview with a daily.

While many directors prefer to work with big stars, some feel that working with stars can be disadvantages as the expectations and hype around the movie sky rocket which might lead to its downfall. But director Kabir Khan feels otherwise.

Priyanka Chopra not in Prakash Jha's 'Satyagraha'

For the past few days rumors have been rife that director Prakash Jha was having second thoughts about Kareena Kapoor as the female lead in his upcoming movie ‘Satyagraha’ and was now thinking of approaching Priyanka Chopra with the role.

Few days ago it was confirmed that Kareena Kapoor had been signed for the movie ‘Satyagraha’ that also stars Amitabh Bachchan in lead role. But recently reports have emerged stating that director was having second thoughts after meeting up with Priyanka Chopra.

But close friend of the actor has denied the news and said that Priyanka Chopra has her hands full at present and she hadn’t approached Prakash Jha and offered to work with him in ‘Satyagraha’.

“This is untrue. Priyanka has most definitely not approached Prakash Jha for any film. She is currently neck deep into shooting for Krrish 3. Moreover her international album is about to be released as well and she is making frequent trips between India and U.S.A. for that. There are a couple of projects already in the anvil. In between this all, where is the time to get committed to another film?” said a close friend of Priyanka Chopra to Bollywood Hungama.

“Yes, I did bump into her recently. She is still a very close friend. I will always, repeat ALWAYS, be there for her. I congratulated her for Cocktail. I was so happy to her being so happy,” said Siddharth in an interview with a daily.

Son of businessman Vijay Mallya is very happy with the way Deepika Padukone’s latest movie ‘Cocktail’ was received by the audience.

I have met Dawood only once: Sanjay Dutt

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Tuesday admitted that he had met Dawood Ibrahim once for dinner in Dubai but denied that he shared a friendship with him. The actor was questioned by the Supreme Court.

Senior Counsel Harish Salve, who represented Sanjay Dutt in the case for the possession of an illegal rifle, answered the questions raised by the court about the relationship between Sanjay Dutt and Dawood Ibrahim an underworld don, who is wanted in India in connections with his key role in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.

In the confessional statement read by Salve given by Sanjay Dutt to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the wake of his arrest in 1993 bomb blasts it stated that the actor has met Dawood in Dubai.

Salman Khan finds romance boring: Katrina Kaif

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who is working with Salman Khan in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ after working with him in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ and ‘Yuvvraaj’, said that Salman Khan was still the same person he was during their first movie and the sudden surge in popularity over the past 3 years hasn’t affected the way he treated Katrina.

“According to me, Salman as an actor and as a person is the same as he was in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’He is the same helpful person. He is a very spontaneous actor. He improvises and has always been interested in his work. With me, he is always exactly the same,” she said in an interview with a popular tabloid.

“All of a sudden there is this huge surge of popularity and fans. His films are doing super well. People around him have changed towards him, the audience has changed, the industry has changed, but he is exactly the same,” she added.

Filmmaker R Balki, who is known for his movie ‘Paa’, said that he was envious of his wife Gauri Shinde for working with Sridevi in her debut movie itself.

Veteran actress Sridevi is making a comeback into films with Gauri Shinde’s directorial debut ‘English Vinglish’, which is a fun filled story which concentrates on impact of not knowing English language in everyday life.

“I envy Gauri... like I wanted to work with Sridevi first but she did. And then I wished I could have thought of this idea, but she did. I am actually jealous of her... the film made me feel jealous. Both of the things I did not do, so I just had to sit and watch,” said R Balki to PTI.

Given the popularity of Sridevi down south the movie is not just being made in Hindi but also in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.

Veena Malik to make her singing debut

Pakistani actress Veena Malik won’t just be making her Bollywood debut soon but will also maker a debut as a singer.

“Singing is what I always wanted to do. I don't know if it will be for this movie or not. But I am working on a music album right now. And, yes I am singing for a Bollywood film in which I will act too. It is a crazy party track which I am sure people will like,” said Veena Malik to a daily in an interview.

Recently there were reports that the actress was approached by Rakhi Sawant’s brother for a movie. The actress confirmed the reports but said that it wasn’t Rakhi Sawant’s brother but Rakhi Sawant herself who approached her.

“It was Rakhi who had approached me for the film which is on the life of Laila Khan. I made it very clear to her that if the script is good, only then will I take up this role,” she said.

“For me, choosing a film means strong roles and a good story line. In a week's time, they are giving me the script, and then I will decide,” she added.

I was intimidated by Shah Rukh Khan at first: Katrina Kaif

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is working alongside Superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in Yash Chopra’s untitled project that also stars Anushka Sharma.

In a recent interview to PTI, actress Katrina Kaif admitted that working with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time was very intimidating.

“With regards to Shahrukh, I did not know him that well at all. I would have said five words to him in my entire life. With SRK, who is a superstar I have worked this year, after being in the industry for nine years,” said Katrina Kaif.

“You constantly see that person on TV, in media, movies and everywhere. So for me a little sense of intimidation was there when you are actually in front of him... which I later found funny,” she added.

After working with Shah Rukh Khan the actress can’t seem to stop praising him.
