Fat is not sexy: Kareena Kapoor

Added by harini on Jun 16, 2012

While actress like Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha are promoting a healthy body by supporting curves, actress Kareena Kapoor condemns them.

“I have gone back to the size-zero look I had in ‘Tashan’, but this time it is curvier. I wanted this body for my item song in the film. Since it is a rigorous and raunchy number, I decided to go for a slim and sexy look. But I still have curves in the right places. It may be a trend now with some actors, but I definitely don't want to look plump or fat!” said actress to a daily.

While Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha call curves sexy, Kareena Kapoor thinks it’s preposterous to think being plump is sexy.

“Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out. Any woman who says she doesn't want to be thin is talking nonsense. It's every girl's dream,” she said.

Actress said that to go back to size zero she has been following a strict diet advised by her dietician Rujuta Diwekar.

It infuriates me to see mindless movies collect 100 Crores: Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Added by harini on Jun 16, 2012

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest production ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, which released today, has been garnering rave reviews and the concept of the movie is being appreciated.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is of an opinion that as filmmaker’s it’s their responsibility to make movies with good messages in them.

“We change lives. So many people are impacted by cinema. With 'Munna Bhai', with '3 Idiots', with every film we've done, we've touched lives. That is the job of a filmmaker. And a filmmaker has a social responsibility, and he can't escape it, just the way you have a social responsibility if you are a journalist, and you can't escape that - whether or not you print this. We all create realities and impressions,” he said in an interview with a daily.

The producer said that it infuriated him to see rubbish movies collect 100 Crores at box-office and become huge hits.

“When I look at the mediocrity of Indian cinema, when I look at some rubbish being made and people hailing it because it is touching 100 crores, I get angry. I say ki tum logon ka koi dharam imaan hai nahi kya?” he asked.

Akshay Kumar's 'Joker' to be released only in 2D

Added by harini on Jun 16, 2012

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s next movie ‘Joker’ that was to be released in 3D will now be released in 2D.

“‘Joker’ will release in 2D format. It's a decision taken by business heads based on the reactions to recent 2D and 3D films of big superstars,” confirmed director Shirish Kunder through Twitter.

“The initial plan was for ‘Joker’ to be the first 3D film with a big star. But that USP doesn't hold anymore. Taking into account the recent responses to 2D versus 3D ventures, we decided to reach out to a wider audience,” said the director to TOI.

The producer of the movie Siddharth Roy Kapoor, CEO of UTV, too backed Shirish Kunder’s reasoning.

“For a movie featuring a superstar (read: Akshay), the draw is more the star power and the content. We have seen this in case of many films over the past year that have clicked at the BO more for the film itself rather than the incremental business from 3D screens. Given this experience, we took a collective decision with Akshay, Shirish and his wife Farah Khan to complete ‘Joker’ in the regular 2D format only,” he said.

I can't make films like 'Rowdy Rathore: Anurag Kashyap

Added by harini on Jun 16, 2012

Director Anurag Kashyap, who is known for his unconventional movies like ‘Dev D’, ‘The Girl in Yellow Boots’, said that if he attempted to make a commercial movie it would end up being a huge disaster.

“I can't make a 'Rowdy Rathore'. If I make a 'Rowdy Rathore', it will be a flop. It has to be made with a conviction. Prabhu Deva had a conviction. He believes in what he is doing. You need to believe in what you are doing. The day I start internally believing in a film, which is in the mainstream zone, I will make it,” he said in an interview.

The filmmaker said that he never feels upset if other movies go on to become blockbuster hits as ultimately the money earned by them will help non-commercial directors like him.

“I am sad about people not watching 'Shanghai', but I will not be sad about any film making money. UTV is making money out of 'Rowdy Rathore' and they will spend that money to promote my film 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana',” he said.

Added by harini on Jun 14, 2012

“‘Kya Super Kool Hai Hum’ is a keenly awaited comedy and we're glad to pre-pone its release for everyone who's been waiting for it. It makes business sense to have a clean weekend with no other film, in the interest of maximizing business,” said CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures Tanuj Garg.
