Actress Parineeti Chopra, who is very good friends with actress Alia Bhatt, thinks that Alia Bhatt has the potential to become a ‘big star’.

Earlier, Alia Bhatt too has praised Parineeti Chopra on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’. Alia had said that Parineeti's skills make her insecure in her skin and she sees competition in her.

"Alia and I are good friends. In fact, she always tells me these things. So when she said this on the show, I felt good that she praised me. I even gave her a call and told her that she doesn't need to feel insecure because I feel Alia will be a very big star," said Parineeti Chopra to IANS.

Parineeti Chopra said that Alia Bhatt’s "good looks" and "great screen presence".

Actor Varun Dhawan, who made his Bollywood debut alongside actors Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, said that he doesn’t think that Siddharth and Alia as his competition but as his family.

“We (Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and I) have discussed competition, we do discuss these things but I think when you do your first film with someone, you form a bond and it's like (they are) family,” said Varun Dhawan to IANS.

“You are just bonded for life. So you overlook that (competition) thing. I just have lot of love in my heart for both of them," he added.

The actor, who was talking during the launch of the trailer of his second movie ‘Main Tera Hero’, said that Alia and Siddharth "were more nervous for me than I am right now (for my film Main Tera Hero)".

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie ‘Jagga Jasoos’ will release in May next year after IPL.

“Disney's ‘Jagga Jasoos’, directed by Anurag Basu, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Govinda, will release on May 29, 2015, the first Friday after the end of the IPL season next year," read a statement released by the production house today.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ is the first movie in which Ranbir Kapoor will play a detective.

The actor said that his character is along the lines of 'Sherlock Holmes-meets-James Bond-meets-Mission Impossible'. The movie is said to be a typical Bollywood movie with elements of action, comedy and music.

Actress Parineeti Chopra has denied the reports that she has been cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Raj Films ambitious project ‘Fan’.

‘Fan’ is being directed by ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ director Maneesh Sharma and is written by Habib Faisal.

“No, I am not doing Fan, which is being made by Maneesh. Everybody is asking me about it. You should ask Maneesh or Shah Rukh about it," the actress told reporters.

The shooting of the movie is set to begin in May 2014.

Actress Kareena Kapoor has been signed to play the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in upcoming action drama movie ‘Singham 2’.

According to reports, director Rohit Shetty had initially offered Kareena Kapoor the female lead in the movie. But later felt that the role was too small for an A-list actress like Kareena Kapoor. So, he decided to look the other way and considered TV actress Drashti Dhami for the role.

But now the director has decided to go with his initial choice and cast Kareena Kapoor as the female lead. To suit Kareena Kapoor’s status the role has been rewritten and better fleshed out.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Jai Ho’ has been cleared by Central Board of Film Certification with a U/A certificate and a number of cuts.

“Actually, this is quite an unusual situation for a film starring Salman Khan. His films are usually passed with a 'U' certificate with minimum or no cuts. But ‘Jai Ho’ is a political thriller about a common man's successful attempt to foil an assassination bid against a chief minister," said a source to IANS.

“There are many very hard-hitting dialogues against corruption in present-day Indian politics. This is Salman's first film with a strong political statement," added the source.

According to reports censor board asked for some of Salman's tirade against corrupt politicians and their dubious politics to be toned down or beeped out.

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is disappointed that her movie ‘Lootera’, which won critical acclaim upon its release, dint get nominated for the Best Movie awards this year.

“Disheartening how Lootera has been held back from most of the nominations this year. Didn't they call it a masterpiece, poetry in motion, world-class and technically superior film when it released? That seems like qualification enough to be out there,” Sonakshi Sinha tweeted.

In the recently announced Filmfare awards though the movie failed to get nominated for Best Picture, Sonakshi Sinha did manage to get a nomination in Best Actor (female) category.

“Not nominating Vikramaditya for Best Director, Ranveer for acting, Amit Trivedi for music, (Mahendra) Shetty for cinematography, Aditya (Kanwar) for art, Subarna (Ray Chaudhuri) for costumes, Amitabh (Bhattacharya) for lyrics makes my nomination feel so out of place," she said.

The release date of Aamir Khan’s eagerly anticipated movie ‘P.K.’ has been postponed to December.

The movie that was earlier scheduled to release on June 6 will now release during Christmas this year.

“‘P.K.’ release shall be in Christmas 2014,” said filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Though the movie has been postponed, no reasons have been given for the postponement.
