Reports of Salman Khan hitting Katrina Kaif untrue

Added by harini on Jul 06, 2012

Previously there were reports suggesting actor Salman Khan had gone back to women beating ways. It was reported that the actor had hit Katrina Kaif on sets of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

It was reported that actor dint like Katrina’s figure hugging dress and abused her and even went ahead to hit her with a stick. Apparently Katrina Kaif called up Kareena Kapoor, who was working close by, to help calm down Salman Khan.

But a close friend of Katrina Kaif rubbished these reports.

“This is completely untrue. Salman and Katrina chose to work in the same film because there was no animosity between them. They got along famously during the Dublin and the Istanbul schedules. Salman cares for Katrina a lot. She is like family,” said the friend to a daily.

“People make up a lot of stories. Only because they couldn`t keep up to their commitment of making an appearance at an awards function, rumors started flying,” she added.

It is just a coincidence that my movies have been comedies: Asin

Added by harini on Jul 06, 2012

After tasting tremendous success with her comedies ‘Ready’ and ‘Housefull 2’ actress Asin is back with yet another comedy ‘Bol Bachchan’.

But the actress said that working in comedies wasn’t a conscious decision but a coincident.

“It is just a coincidence that ‘Ready’, ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’ have come back-to-back. It is not that I have special affinity towards them that I end up choosing them. It is not that I want to do only comedy or I have affinity for comedy or that I want to prove myself in comedy,” said the actress to PTI.

“Coincidentally comedies have come my way but it is not that I have consciously chosen them. I am quite comfortable with comedy and I like doing it, especially when I have great co-stars, it's fun to do and is entertaining,” she added.

The actress feels that her full potential hasn’t been explored by anyone as of yet.

“I do feel that my entire side as an actor has not come out considering I am doing back-to-back comedies. I would be happy if something different comes my way. I wish I could do other things, work in other genres but it is not a one-man show. I will have to wait for someone to write a script which is different, which gives me scope for performance and takes me out of the world,” she said.

I feel sad for the lady: Salman Khan

Added by harini on Jul 06, 2012

The Khan Brothers have been in news recently as Sohail Khan’s driver crushed a women pavement dweller of 80 to death by Arbaaz Khan’s car. None of the family members were present in the car and the driver was taken into custody immediately.

Salman Khan in a quick interview with a daily said that the incident was very unfortunate as generally their driver was very careful.

“It is extremely sad. It was an accident. The old lady must be sleeping on the road. She ended up in the centre of the road which is when she must have been hit by the car. The driver initially thought it was a bag or something he had ran over; he later realized it was a woman. I think her children; family had disowned her which is why she was homeless. People who sleep on the road need to be careful,” he said.

The actor had also tweeted about this and said that he was very saddened by it.

'Barfi' is a love story: Ranbir Kapoor

Added by harini on Jul 04, 2012

Even though Ranbir Kapoor plays a deaf and dumb guy in Barfi and Priyanka Chopra plays an autistic girl, Ranbir Kapoor said that the movie shouldn’t be associated with disabilities alone.

“I would say that one should not associate this film with disability...this film is not about disability. It is a coincidence that these two characters are deaf, mute and one is autistic. But one will not feel that it is a disability film. It’s about enjoying life, giving happiness, feeling love. It’s a love story,” he said to PTI in an interview.

The movie also stars Tollywood actress Illena and Ranbir said that the plot with her with her was an eternal love story.

“If you see Ileana's character you will see eternal romance, if you see the love story between Priyanka and my character...it’s heartwarming. You will not feel that the film is about disability film or mentally challenged kind of...it’s not that,” he said.

Questions about Sunny and Bobby Deol's absence at Esha Deol's wedding irks Dharmendra

Added by harini on Jul 04, 2012

Actress and eldest daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini Esha Deol tied knot with businessman Bharat this Friday. While the wedding was a very grand affair and attended by many big wigs from both Bollywood and politics, many couldn’t stop wondering where were Esha Deol’s half brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

It was said that Sunny and Bobby were busy with personal commitments and would make it to the reception but even when they failed to show up during the reception, media started questing Dharmendra about their absence.

This irritated the veteran actor so much that the actor mimicked the reporter and walked away without answering the question. When he was asked the same question by another journalist he said, “Aap bakwaas mat kijiye (Don't talk rubbish).”

Diana Penty has that classic Indian look: Dinesh Vijan

Added by harini on Jul 04, 2012

Model Diana Penty is all set to maker her debut in ‘Cocktail’ alongside Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. From the trailers and promo pictures the actress’s acting and looks are already being much appreciated.

But her casting as one of lead ladies of the movie came as a surprise to many. But producer Dinesh Vijan said that Diana Penty was perfect for the role.

“I gave the script to Deepika (Padukone) and asked her to choose between the two roles. Having already played Meera in Love Aaj Kal (2009) she opted for the challenge of playing the hot and wild Veronica. And with Deepika and Saif (Ali Khan) in, we decided this Cocktail needed a fresh ingredient,” he said to HT.

“I was in a rush to leave town, she was in a hurry to go for a photo-session, but at a glance, we felt that despite the perfect smile and polished looks, Diana was the shy, girl-next-door Meera. She has that classic Indian look. After two auditions, both Homi (director Homi Adjania) and I agreed that she was right for the role, even though we had to de-glam her, make her less perfect and more awkward,” he added.

'Jism 2' promo to be released on internet

Added by harini on Jul 04, 2012

Recently Censor Board of India awarded the promos of movie ‘Jism 2’ an ‘A’ certificate. So, director Pooja Bhatt has decided to release the promos online.

“First music promo for #Jism2 has been given an 'A' certificate. And this was what one could call a truly watered down version... So the deal is this - You can't buy spots on TV for a promo with an 'A' certificate. Which basically means you can't publicize your music!... So will I pare down the promo of #Jism2 to appease the censors? Or release it on the internet & push forward a more sanitized song on TV?” she tweeted on her Twitter page.

“Absolutely REFUSE to pare my scheduled trailer down to pander to an over cautious Censor board. Will release promo on the internet instead...,” she further tweeted.

When a daily called the director asking to elaborate further she said, “Frankly, I don't want to get into the ‘Dirty Picture’ war (the screening of 'Dirty Picture' was disallowed on TV) with anybody. Or even get into that trap of paring my songs with random clips from the movie that are acceptable to the mass audience. Please understand that in my film, all the songs also take the story forward. And let's accept it, I have made a film for a particular audience and by messing up with my promo I will be doing a disservice to my core audience. Arrey, I must be the only idiot in the world to be asking for an 11 pm slot for my film and so, the solution I have found is to simply go on the internet to release the music there. And since we are taking a different route, so why not go the whole hog and release the complete uncensored version?”
